Gros-grain

Coarse-grained rigid fabric ribbon (gross grain, in French) in which the warp completely covers the weft. It is especially used to support clothing around the waist.

Its peculiarity is stiffness and, for this reason, it is also used in finishing points, hems, straps and pockets.
