Slow Food

Where it all started from...

The Slow Food movement was born in Italy, in the province of Cuneo, in 1986 with the aim of promoting the right to experience meals primarily as a pleasure.

Founded by Carlo Petrini as a response to the spread of fast food, junk food and, in general, hectic habits, Slow Food studies, defends and divulges agricultural and food and wine traditions from all over the world.

The movement is also active in the defense of biodiversity and peoples' rights to food sovereignty and is fighting against the homologation of flavors, massive agriculture and genetic manipulation.
